A tale of travel, love and love for travel. A story of Schnitzel, Sauerkraut and Schicksal (fate). A series of sliding-door moments. With one decision, you could have a completely different life – but is the grass really greener on the other side of the world? Music drawn from the Great German Songbook, and from all over the place. Featuring Shelley Dunstone (vocals) and Edward Heddle (piano).
Shelley Dunstone is an Adelaide cabaret performer who has created and performed numerous original shows, including ‘The Confessions of a Wannabe Bond Girl’, ‘Adventures with a Brazilian’, ‘Unbreak My Heart’, ‘A French Romance, ‘Non-stop from Brazil, ‘Le grand Legrand’, ‘Paris, LA, Rio!’ and ‘Memories of Brazil’. In her new show, ‘Wanderlust’ she ventures into the world of German music and claims her German heritage.
Edward Heddle
At six years old, Ed Heddle started playing piano and has been playing ever since. His teenage years were spent studying the classical piano repertoire, and, in recent years, he has expanded to playing jazz and composing his own original music. He has twice won the Young SA Jazz Composers competition, and he has received the 2008 Maude Harriet Riley and the 2009 Tommy Norman Memorial Prize while doing his Bachelor of Music. In 2015, he received his Masters in Music from SUNY Purchase in the US, where he studied with John Abercrombie, Steve Wilson, and Hal Galper. More recently, he’s been working on his Doctorate in Music, in which he has been experimenting with making music in less common rhythmic grids.
